The National Company for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is one of the subsidiaries of the National Service Projects Agency, in partnership with the General Authority for the Development of Fisheries Wealth.
Our company is dedicated to the development of fish farming, the enhancement of natural fishing resources, and the improvement of fishing practices through the establishment of a fishing fleet and the supervision of aquatic areas.
Our aim is to achieve the highest production of fish and seafood and provide fish products to citizens at affordable prices. The National Company for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is a unique company with a large workforce and employees. We have our main administrative headquarters in Cairo, a fishing fleet, offshore fish cages, and fish farms in various provinces of Egypt.
Among these locations is the Fairoz Farm in Eastern Tafreeta, which consists of 5,908 ponds and farms various types of fish and seafood such as Bouri, Tawbara, Sahili, Denis, Garos, Sijan, and Jumbo prawns. It is the largest farm in the Middle East.
We also have the Pharma Farm in Eastern Tafreeta, with 300 fish ponds farming tilapia and Bouri fish. Additionally, there is the Muthalath Al-Daiba Farm in Port Said, which includes 72 ponds for prawn cultivation. All these sites include factories for packaging, ice manufacturing, and foam box manufacturing.
The Pain: The Situation Prior to Project Implementation
- No database for farms, varieties, factories, and distribution outlets.
- No system connecting the different departments or monitoring nor managing daily and seasonal operations at the farm.
- The company did not have a unified system for coding varieties.
- No reporting system.
The Proposed Solution:
Fish Farms Automation to combat the intricacies of the issues at hand. The implementation of SAP ERP system, was suggested to automate the back-end processes, to connect the different departments and achieve the company's vision in addition to Aquamanager to automate the front-end processes to manage and operate the company's fish farms.
The Steps Taken: Our Path Towards the Solution.
- Multiple visits were made to the fish farms to assess the situation and gather the necessary data for system operation.
- The work was efficiently executed by egabi team, who worked remotely through video conference applications for system implementation and constant communication.
- Serious and professional efforts were made to collect information from all departments and input it into the system.
- All items were classified and coded to facilitate trading with standardized product codes.
- Employee retraining was conducted multiple times to improve the company's staff efficiency.
- Backlog data entry was performed for approximately 11 months' worth of data into the SAP and Aquamanager systems.
Challenges Faced During Implementation

- The existence of similar items that caused confusion in the company's warehouses.

- A database was built specifically for the company, its affiliated farms, factories, and sales outlets.

- There are organized and clear reports that document all company activities across different departments.
- The company now has the ability to generate financial reports quickly and accurately.
- There is a clear workflow that encompasses all company activities.
- The company now has the ability to plan effectively by obtaining accurate reports on the current status.
- The company has a record of production plans and feeding plans for different varieties on the Aquamanager application.
- Through data analysis recorded in the application, it is now possible to plan and predict future farm production.
