CCHE 57357 is a non-profit, unique healthcare institution and an exemplar of what can be achieved when people come together to pursue a noble goal. Egyptians and friends from around the world, particularly in the Arab world, generously contributed to the establishment of this hospital, which was entirely built through donations. Egyptians from all walks of life united to create a state-of-the-art children's cancer hospital, aiming to fulfil the dream of a better tomorrow for their children affected by cancer.
Inspired by the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, the Children's Cancer Hospital in Egypt is the world's largest hospital in terms of capacity, with 320 beds. It was founded in 2007 with the goal of providing the best comprehensive, high-quality care centred around families and offering healing opportunities for all children with cancer seeking its services free of charge and without discrimination.
Since its inception, the directors and senior management of Hospital 57357 have recognized that conducting research in both medical and non-medical fields is essential for progress in achieving better treatments and a brighter future for our children with cancer. As a result, more advanced information systems have been adopted by the management, enabling complete digitization of hospital operations, the acquisition of a robust database, and transforming it into a paperless hospital.
The Pain :
Hospital 57357, with its branches in Cairo and Tanta, manages over 700 cost centers that serve various financial operations of the hospital was relying on spreadsheets for planning and budgeting purpose. These processes became disjointed in their information structure, leading to a need for increased manpower and resulting in a higher margin of human error.

The Proposed Solution:
Hospital Budget Automation to combat the intricacies of the issues at hand.. The hospital required a centralized information system that would enable rapid construction and preparation of financial plans across its different departments, ensuring the storage, presentation, and analysis of financial data.
The aim was to enhance the hospital's financial operations and streamline them, enabling a stronger focus on providing better healthcare for our children. Hospital 57357 has transitioned to Oracle EPM Cloud applications, not only to establish a unified budgeting model across the organization but also to aid in integrating new expansion processes more rapidly into budget plans.
Looking towards the future, Hospital 57357 deemed egabi Solutions as the best long-term partner to assist the hospital in its digital transformation journey. This partnership involves adopting the latest industry best practices, keeping up with regulations, and maintaining a strong focus on delivering better healthcare for our children.
The Steps Taken: Our Path Towards the Solution
- Exporting actual data from the Oracle ERP Cloud system, including supplier data specific to contracts from the Payables Module, while utilizing the unique features of the Oracle EPM system to prevent duplication of financial data in the Oracle EPM database.
- Leveraging one of the key features of the Oracle EPM system to facilitate access from the Oracle EPM environment to Oracle ERP Cloud for the analysis and understanding of actual data, down to the invoice level.
These steps ensured the integration and effective utilization of data between the Oracle EPM and Oracle ERP Cloud systems, enabling accurate analysis and reporting of financial information.
Challenges Faced During Implementation
- Multiple data sources: One of the prominent challenges was the existence of two sources for the actual data required to prepare the budget plan. One source was Oracle Fusion GL, while the other was the Payables Module, which feeds its supplier data into the same GL Module. The challenge was to synchronize and consolidate data from these different sources effectively.
- There was a need to access and analyze the actual data, including invoice details, at the level of ERP from within the budgeting module. Ensuring seamless integration and visibility of data between these systems posed a significant challenge.

Situation After Successful Implementation
- Automation of the process of exporting actual data from the Oracle ERP Cloud system, with easy access at the click of a button.
- Increased speed in preparing the budget plan after eliminating reliance on spreadsheets, reducing the budget preparation cycle time by nearly half.
- Decreased margin of human error, ensuring the accuracy of the financial plan.
- Streamlined reporting process with the ability to export and print reports at any time, guaranteeing the availability of the latest updated data.
- Preservation of actual data and its utilization in forecasting processes using machine learning techniques and automated forecasting.
- Ensured integration of both actual and projected data.
- Ability to retain multiple versions of the budget and compare them with each other.
These improvements have led to enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and agility in financial planning and reporting processes, empowering Hospital 57357 to make informed decisions and achieve better financial outcomes.
